It's raining cats and dogs!

It feels like it anyway! This is our cat and dog a few days ago.
Pregnant bellies!
Violet is a full blood Red/Blue Heeler, a.k.a. Australian Cattle Dog

And this is Violet this morning.
She's so exhausted! She's a good mama. :)
Look at that little pink nose! So cute!

Here is a close-up of the "blue" on one puppy.

There are six total. It looks like maybe half of them are going to be very red like their mama and the other half will probably be lightly spotted or just lighter red. And two of them have some "blue". Violet has a blue mama herself and she has some blue on her nose (which is why we came up with the name Violet!).

So we're waiting now for the kittens. It could be any time now. Most of the time animals seem to have their babies in the morning (anyone know why?), so maybe tomorrow morning we'll discover some new kitties when we get up. I won't be able to take any more pictures until Sunday though because Myles will have the camera with him at camp with the Cub Scouts.

  2. It's cooler in the morning. Whenever we've had pregnant dogs as soon as the weather cools down they have the puppies. We also have new puppies and kittens. The puppies you can see on my blog, the kittens are under our house and we haven't seen them yet. Dh heard them this morning while he was in the bathroom, so I guess that's where they are. Your puppies are cute! Can't wait to see the kittens.
