Go meatless!

This button I mainly put on here for my kids. They are vegetarian (by their own choice) because they cannot stand the thought of killing animals to eat when there are so many other food choices available. I am vegetarian for health reasons, so it doesn't bother me quite as much. But they were curious how many animals they save by not eating meat, so I put this widget up for them.

Go meatless!

0 chickens

0 turkeys

0 ducks

0 pigs

0 cattle

0 sheep

0 rabbits

Number of animals killed in the world by the meat, dairy and egg industries, since you opened this webpage. This counter does not include the billions of fish and sea animals killed annually.

Quick note....I've decided to leave my "awards" on the sidebar because it's just fun bloggy bling! :) And I only have one.

Okay, so another button I am taking off is one I made for the raw vegan pregnancy/nursing group. I started the group just 3 years ago and it is up to 240 members now! There have been so many women who have had incredibly healthy pregnancies and births while members in this group, and it has been a blessing to read their stories, especially when they can compare the raw pregnancy and birth to previous "normal" diet ones. The difference is amazing!

Raw Vegan

This is another topic I am passionate about, though I am not strict about it in my own life. Not that I am a hypocrite, but it is hard to break bad habits and food addictions! Also, I honestly don't believe that eating certain foods is wrong, so I try not to be legalistic about it. For right now I try to eat a lot of raw and am vegetarian most of the time and sometimes vegan. :)

This is something I am passionate about though because it was man's original diet before sin entered the world, so I want to share it here. However, since I rarely blog about it, I am taking the buttons off my sidebar. Check out these sites when you get a chance!

Jack's gift to all

I brought home a steak burrito last night for Myles, and Jack (who only has two teeth) got a hold of it! He said that Jack ate nearly half of it before he discovered what he was doing! I was so upset. It was his first (and hopefully last) taste of meat.

Then, today of all days, he had some very stinky, VERY messy diapers! Yucky meat! He has already had 2 baths and 3 outfits on. I just hope it's all out of him now! Back to being a vegetarian baby.

Meat: the gift that keeps on giving (especially when it is seasoned and eaten by a toddler who is not used to it!)
