Jacob's rash

Anyone know what this might be?

  1. It reminds me of something I had on my back years ago - I had to have a steroid cream for it...some kind of bugs if I remember correctly - though I may not. It was quite painful and itchy...

  2. Has he had a fever with it? It looks kind of like roseola maybe, but he would have had the fever first. Both of mine had it at one point or another. It does look very familiar, but I can't remember what it is.

  3. It does look a lot like Roseola, but he has not had a fever or even felt bad. He's acting completely normal.

We went to the doc yesterday afternoon. She pulled on the skin and stretched it and the rash disappeared, so she said it is a virus of some kind and should go away in 2-3 days. He said it is a little itchy, but I haven't seen him scratching it. So I guess we'll just watch it, give him Benedryl when needed, and then if it's not cleared up by Friday morning or if he starts feeling bad or something, we can always go back on Friday. No biggie. :) I'm just glad to find out what it is.....even though I don't know what KIND of virus he has! There are natural supplements to get rid of viruses though, so we'll try those. :)

  6. Did you ever figure out what it was? It looks like heat rash- I get it, and the kids get it.. especially our youngest. The last time, someone recommended bathing my little one in the morning and evening until it went away, and it went away within a day. :) I guess the skin just needs a good cleansing!

  7. Yes, sorry! The doctor said that it was a virus, which I figured but he was acting fine. She pulled on the skin and really looked at it good, and she said it acted and reacted (to stretching and poking) like a virus rash. She was confident that it would go away within 3-ish days, and it was completely gone by the third day! So, I hate not knowing, but those stinkin' viruses.....it is nearly impossible to know sometimes. But he is fine and no one else caught anything (and the doctor had even said she didn't think anyone would, that there was a "low risk" of that happening), so I was satisfied, I guess. Thanks for asking! Sorry I didn't update sooner!
