Wow. Not one verse. During the service this morning, the associate pastor did not crack open his bible at all or even quote a verse. He just told stories about his own experiences and how to be like Christ......but not one single verse on HOW to be like Christ, and there are plenty!!! :'(
This is a baptist church, and a "pretty good" one compared to most I have been to, which is not really saying that much. Why don't churches preach the WORD? I get more out of talking to friends or my husband and getting down to what the bible says right there in black and white, no reading between the lines, than I do listening to preaching. Very, very little fellowship here too. :( So sad.
Don't ask why we're still attending a Sunday, denominational church because I honestly don't know. Maybe Yah has us there for a greater purpose.
